JapanOpen2018 -- Rescue League Information for Participants

Dear Rescue teams,

Thank you for your participation to RoboCup Junior Japan Open 2018.
We feel great honored to inform you the followings on the competition of rescue.
Please have in detail and feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
We are looking forward to seeing you at WAKAYAMA in Japan.

1.    Schedule


Day 0

March 30 2018 (Fri)  @ PLAZA HOPE


12:00 - 17:00             Team Registration
14:00 – 18:00            Robot Inspection & Interview

It is NOT allow to access to competition arena.
It is also NOT allow to do any calibration and repair for your robot at the room in PLAZA HOPE.


Day 1        
March 31, 2018(Sat)  @ WAKAYAMA BIG WHALE

08:00 -         Team Registration
09:00 -        Team can access to paddock and practice field
09:20 -        Inspection & Interview
11:00 -        Opening Ceremony
12:00 -        Captain Meeting
13:00 -        Inspection & Interview
14:00 -        1st & 2nd Attempt
17:40 -        Lottery for 3rd Attempt order

Day 2
April 1, 2018(Sun)  @ WAKAYAMA BIG WHALE

08:00 -         Team can access to paddock and practice field
10:00 -         3rd Attempt
13:00 -         Voluntary Team Presentation & New Rule
15:00 -         Closing Ceremony

Note)
Please bring some power strip and adapter for electric power source by yourself because just one outlet a team is given.

1)    Please note that the width of Doorway, Ramps are at least 27.5 cm.


Please refer to the rule concerned.

1.1.3 Walls that make up the maze are at least 15 cm high. Their width can reduce the available space for doorways and paths (see 1.1.4, 1.1.5 and 1.3.2)

1.1.4 Doorways are at least 30 cm wide.

1.1.5 Ramps will be at least 30 cm wide and have an incline with a maximum of 25 degrees from the horizontal. Ramps are always straight.

1.3.2 Paths will be approximately 30 cm wide and may open into foyers wider than the path.

5.    Prioritization Procedure


<Rescue Line>
Teams must play on 3 different fields during the competition.

Prioritization procedure
1)     Higher total score

2)     Shorter time in case same score

3)     More victims rescued in case same time

4)     Less LOP(Lack of Progress) in case same victims rescued



<Rescue Maze>
Teams must play on 3 different fields during the competition.

Prioritization procedure
1)     Higher total score
2)     Shorter time in case same score
3)     More returns to start tile
4)     More victims rescued in case same time
5)     Less LOP(Lack of Progress) in case same victims rescued


6.    Documents


Team must provide the following documents that explain their work.



1)    All teams must complete a web form prior to the competition to allow judges to better prepare for the interviews. (due date : March 23)

Instructions on how to submit the form will be provided after team registration.



2)    Poster formatted PDF file must be attached in a web form above
, and the one printed on paper size A3 must put on the place predetermined in the venue.



3)    Engineering journal and source code may NOT mandatory for the interviews, but they can use them.


7.    Interviews


All teams must have an interview about 15 minutes based on the document from the web form.

   The appointment for it should be required prior to the completion.
Instructions on how to make the appointment will be provided after team registration.
